Sounds great! Why should I work with you?

How many times have you told yourself, or others, that you were going to start and complete New Year's Resolutions? Or any type of "challenge"?

How many times have you maintained a healthy or personally satisfying habit, only to have real life throw things your way to mess that up, leaving you to declare and promise that you'll start again on Monday (or next week, or on a specific date)?

We're all guilty of that. It doesn't matter whether it was only 1 time or a million... and counting. At some point in our lives we had the best of intentions to start and follow something through, only to have it be deserted.

And that's okay.

So, what does that have to do in terms of working with us?

People have no problem automatically thinking of or hiring different services to help them accomplish something they know they can't do on their own, or don't feel confident in successfully completing. For example, if you want a haircut you hire a hair stylist. If you want a massage you hire a masseuse. If you want to reach fitness goals you hire a personal trainer. Hiring a health and wellness coach or consultant is no different.

Have you ever tried talking to your doctor about addressing issues in other ways, other than their usual quick response of going on medication or the generalized answer of "diet and exercise"? Western medical doctors have a lot on their plates and more often than not aren't able to have in-depth conversations with you. So you end up leaving the appointment 15 minutes after getting in, hardly feeling like you got helpful information or direct answers you were hoping for.

In actuality, Western doctors aren't trained to know all of the diet and exercise programs, alternative support therapy opportunities, and natural wellness avenues. Some might have an interest area and a little background, but it's not their field of expertise. Dietitians and Nutritionists have education and interest in food and nutrition, but focus on specific numbers or following certain plans. Have you ever found yourself frustrated by not getting the direct answers you’re hoping for? Your doctor already has a lot of his or her plate, so when you ask what you should do to be healthier, you may be faced with the broad, generalized answer, “Diet and exercise." Sure, there may be a diet or exercise program your doctor recommends, but the truth is it’s not their field of expertise. A long-lasting, healthy lifestyle comes from small changes, adjustments, and growth. Then we're able to work together in-depth to find the best plan and course of action for you.
